Regarding representation, I am fairly proud of it. Since we live in Florida, there are all sorts of ethnicities in our crowds and I really enjoy the mix. But what we were really reaching for was representation of mental health. It was hard for Abby to act out a mentally unwell character. Lots of film was cut, but she ended up acting it out really well. She wanted Irene to seem very unwell in sense of fatigue, injury, and mentality. It is quite evident as we see her look at her reflection. She tends to hit herself and huff and puff. Tossing, turning, and more are all signs of trauma, and I think out character could be easily diagnosed with PTSD and mania.
